Copplestone figures a review

I decided to set a new blog to chronicle my painting and research of Louis XIV's Dutch war. I have to say I really don't know much about this period but wanted to use this forum to record this project as I have used my other blog to record my Rhodesian project. most times I find a period that interests me and then I go looking for figures to paint for it, this time I saw the figures and decided to research the period. The figures are 28mm Copplestone glory of the sun range. I was really taken with this line and wanted to utilize them for building an army. The sculpting is fantastic and I really like the variety of infantry currently available. 3 separate types of musketeers, command and pikemen. The differences seem mostly connected to length of coat sleeve and size of the hats. With the Dutch seeming to enjoy a longer coat and a fuller hat. I think it is actually more to do with the year of service, with the French infantry more from the 1660's and the other types perhaps a little later in the 1670's although all seem perfectly compatible on a wargamer's table.
On the negative side, while perfectly suited to larger scale actions there is a distinct lack of poses in the musketeers. 1 shooting 1 loading, so a rather limited assortment for a skirmish game. but great for the scale I intend to use. Also there is only infantry released to this point. so hopefully artillery and cavalry with be released soon. All in all great figures and I can't recommend them highly enough.
